Dr. West is a board-certified ophthalmologist at North Texas Ophthalmology Associates with focused expertise in cataract surgery and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS). He is committed to delivering precise, evidence-based surgical care while continually refining his approach to improve long-term vision outcomes.
With a steady and thoughtful demeanor, Dr. West partners closely with each patient to develop individualized treatment plans designed to restore clarity and preserve sight. His work reflects a deep commitment to enhancing quality of life through surgical excellence and compassionate care.
Outside of the office, Dr. West enjoys spending time with his wife and four children and is an avid cyclist, having completed the renowned Hotter’N Hell 100 in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Dr. Kelly is a board-certified ophthalmologist and the founder of North Texas Ophthalmology Associates. For more than four decades, he has served patients throughout Wichita Falls and the greater Texoma region with a steadfast commitment to comprehensive eye care and long-term vision health.
He earned his medical degree from the Tulane University School of Medicine and completed his internship and ophthalmology residency at Wilford Hall United States Air Force Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. Throughout his career, Dr. Kelly has been guided by a dedication to clinical excellence, integrity, and service to the local community.
As the founder of the practice, Dr. Kelly has played an integral role in establishing a culture centered on restoring sight and preventing blindness for generations of families across North Texas.

He earned his medical degree from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and completed his ophthalmology residency at the same institution. Dr. Avera approaches each patient with measured expertise and individualized attention, emphasizing clarity, comfort, and lasting outcomes.

Dr. Staples is an optometrist at North Texas Ophthalmology Associates with more than 30 years of experience in comprehensive eye care. He has focused expertise in the diagnosis and management of dry eye disease, as well as the fitting of specialty contact lenses, including custom GP and scleral lenses for patients with complex corneal or ocular surface conditions.
He earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry and holds certification in the treatment and management of glaucoma. Throughout his career, Dr. Staples has practiced in private settings and served as a faculty associate at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. Dr. Staples is committed to delivering careful, individualized care that supports long-term ocular health, visual function, and patient comfort.
Outside of the office, he enjoys woodworking, restoring his great-grandparents’ 1949 Pontiac Streamliner, and spending time with his family and dogs.
